Reiki is a powerful spiritual experience, and consequently is not taught as other healing techniques are taught. The connection to the Reiki source is achieved through an attunement process, during which time the student sits quietly whilst the Reiki Master facilitates the attuning (there are 3 such attunements in Reiki I). Once given, the ability to give Reiki is retained for life and will be an ever-present ability, even if the energy is left dormant for any period of time. As it is the Reiki Master's task (or, rather, honour) to facilitate the connection of the Reiki student to the Reiki energy source, each student is unequivocally assured that on completion of the course, they will be fully-fledged Reiki Practitioners.

It really is that simple.

What can you do with Reiki I?

Well, assuming that you are like most people who attend a Reiki I workshop, you aren't planning on becoming a healer. However, you would like the ability to give unlimited amounts of Reiki energy to yourself, family, friends, pets or plants, whenever and wherever it is needed.

And what about those who would like to become healers, or would like to enhance whatever healing/therapy they currently practice? Put simply, one would be very hard-pressed to find a more perfect introduction and complement to the healing arts than Reiki.

Either way, everyone who completes this course will be able to use Reiki in the following ways:

Treating disorders/diseases/disharmony Detoxification Supplying universal life-force energy Balancing the body's energies Increasing/supporting self-healing ability Strengthening the immune system, organs, etc. Emergency situations Deep relaxation Releasing and dissolving energy blockages Providing physical/mental/emotional balance As a powerful support tool to other techniques Promoting advancement on one's chosen spiritual path Etc., etc., etc...

Reiki Workshops with Chantal

Reiki workshops with Chantal are conducted in groups of not more than six people, thereby ensuring individual attention whilst allowing group interaction and discussion. However, private instruction can be arranged at no extra charge. Chantal prefers teaching in small numbers as this allows for more specific instruction. For example, if a student(s) expresses an interest in crystal usage/healing, this can be incorporated into the workshop with ease. For others, the emphasis may be on combining Reiki with other various forms of bodywork. More recently, Chantal has been offering Reiki I workshops with the focus being on Reiki and pregnancy, childbirth, babies and children.

All Reiki I workshops with Chantal include the following:

Full explanations of Reiki and its history (including commonly taught erroneous histories) how Reiki works using Reiki with other therapies treating animals and plants with Reiki giving Reiki treatments using Reiki for self-healing using Reiki in emergency situations causations of disease and disharmony Reiki and the chakra syste Demonstrations followed by supervised, patient practise in giving Reiki self-treatments and giving Reiki treatments to others the complete range of Reiki hand positions clearing and balancing the chakra system A full and comprehensive manual that includes all material taught during the course, pictures of all the Reiki hand positions used for treatment of self and others and additional supporting information. Full certification, recognised internationally.

        *Please note that in cases of private tuition, the Reiki I workshop lasts for one full day rather than two.

        **Children's workshops (for those aged 12 and under) are normally paid for by the children themselves-through donating either a portion of their savings or a favourite toy to a children's charity. There is a small fee to cover course costs and material- (paid by the parents!)
